Borders Crossings by Michael Knight

This series investigate human population dispersion and the cultural shifts engendered by such movement. Combined with the hand drawn black birds that inhabit each scene maps, marks, glyphs and concentric rings depict time, change, growth and connectivity as they relate to diverse patterns of migration and provoked consequences. Like there human counter parts, these intelligent, adaptable, ingenious, mischievous, admired and rejected birds cross borders both real and symbolic, moving from place to place prompted by instinct, necessity and fate.
